Getting to Work in Space. Illustration of the space shuttle, showing the shuttle in action with the crew working and living in pressurised comfort. The top left inset shows an example of canisters called 'get-away specials' which will fill up every nook and cranny on each flight. Here, New Jersey High School science students use a plywood mock-up to ensure that their experiment (the effect of weightlessness on an ant colony) will eventually fit into one of the canisters.
