Hester Lynch Thrale (nee Salusbury) married Henry Thrale in 1763; after his death in 1781 she married Gabriel Mario Piozzi in 1784; she was a diarist and patron of the arts, a prominent figure in London society life and friend of Dr Samuel Johnson;
