House designed by Sir Christopher Wren (1632-1723) and built for Sarah Churchill (1660-1744), Duchess of Marlborough in 1711; Image shows the house after it was substantially enlarged by James Pennethorne (1801-1871); from 1863 the house was used by the Prince of Wales before he became King Edward VII (1841-1910);
