About
Robert Kett (c.1492-1549) was a wealthy tanner who lead a protest against land enclosure, eventually occupying Norwich; image shows a royal messenger arriving to offer the rebels a full pardon if they agreed to go home peacefully, Kett refused and was eventually hung; all took place over the summer of 1549;
