Izabella Godlewska was born in North Eastern Poland. She came to the UK and studied architecture at the Oxford School of Architecture. She studied painting with Pacewicz in London and worked as an architect in London and Madrid.
Her paintings are vibrant with colour. They take you on a journey from the figurative into the abstract; through time and space, both physical and spiritual. In her sculpture, dating from the eighties, she transfers her contemplation of universal truths into more subjective works, inspired by a newly discovered emotional energy.
Izabella Godlewska has exhibited in Madrid, London, Rome and Caracas. She has won prizes in Spain and latterly has engaged in sculpture at the Chelsea and West Thames Colleges of Art.
