b. 1953 Born in Yorkshire, Susan pursued an education in science. But after the birth of her fourth son, she was able to return to her life-long love of painting. She was influenced initially by fellow Yorkshire artist William Selby, from whom she took instruction for three years. Her depiction of the figure in the tableaux of life has led her to a more naive style of painting influenced primarily by the works of Albert Herbert and François Delamer. She has exhibited regularly at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition and was made a member of the Royal Institute of Oil Painters in 1992 and a member of the Royal Society of British Artists in 1998.
