Tim O'Toole Prints, Posters & Canvas Art

Biography

Born in Dayton, Ohio, Tim O'toole is a graduate of the Dayton Art Institute and received a Bachelor of Fine Art degree from the University of Cincinnati. Among the influences that Tim finds the most inspiring are the visually expressive works of John Singer Sargent, Joaquin Sorolla, French Impressionist Claude Monet and Andrew Wyeth. Having lived in West Chester County, Pennsylvania, Tim studied the Wyeth technique of watercolor landscape and still life painting incorporating this style into his own work. A resident of Colorado for over twenty years, Tim worked on location mastering his skill as a landscape painter. His landscape paintings represent a fine line between abstraction and transitional.

Tim has given workshops and demonstrations in this country as well as abroad with emphasize on Asian countries. While in Asia, Tim studied the Japanese fine art technique of creating multiple patterns or images in a solitary piece of art. This technique can be seen as an influence in a number of his floral still life paintings.

Tim uses a variety of mediums such as oils, acrylics, watercolors and mixed media. His paintings have been sold all over the world to individual collectors as well as corporations.
