Biography

Stephane Poulin was born in Montreal, Canada. He "encountered" Bruegel the Elder at an early age, which changed the direction of his life. In 1979 he registered with the Montreal College of Graphic Arts and began illustrating children's books in 1983. He has since published over 50 albums in Canada, the United States, France and Belgium. His illustrations have been exhibited in the United States, France, Belgium, the United Kingdom, Rumania and Japan.

Poulin has received many prestigious awards for his work: the Canada Governor General's Award, the Boston Globe Award of Excellence and the Quebec-Wallonie-Bruxelles Award amongst many others.
