Playbill advertising a performance given during the Franklin Search Expedition, 1850-1851. It is printed in black on linen with a seam down the left hand side and a line of stitching at the bottom. The notice is surmounted by the Royal Coat of Arms and Prince of Wales' feathers.
Inscribed: 'ROYAL / ARCTIC THEATRE / Ich Dien / H.M.S. ASSISTANCE, / LAST NIGHT FOR THE SEASON!! / On Friday the 28th February 1851, being / the anniversary of Commissioning the Expe / dition; will be performed the / GRAND HISTORICAL DRAMA / in Two Acts of / CHARLES THE TWELFTH. / Charles XII ... Lieut. Mecham, / Adam Brock, Mr. Ede / Maj. Vanberg, (as Firman), Capt. Ommanney, Gustavus de Mervelt .. Mr Markham. / Triptolemus Muddlewerk .. F.J. Krabbé. / Genl Duckert, Lieut Cator, / Col.
