Maharana Bhim Singh of Mewar out hunting
Maharana Bhim Singh (reigned 1778-1828) wears a blue gown, crimson paijama and an orange turban, and rides a plump stallion with distinctive leg-of-mutton legs. The kings of Rajasthan were great patrons of art and often commissioned portraits and lavish depictions of court life. This work was painted by an anonymous artist from Mewar (Rajasthan, India), circa 1800-10. Add.Or.4662.
