Portrait of the 'Charlotte'

Viewed from before the port beam, a portrait of the 'Charlotte', 8-gun yacht, built 1677, rebuilt 1710. There are ten wreathed ports on a broadside. The figurehead is indistinct; it appears to be of a woman with angels holding a crown over her head. The drawing is inscribed in brown ink 'saerlodt'.

This drawing was probably made in connection with pictures of the journey of William of Orange and Princess Mary to Holland in 1677. Approximately dated by the subject and watermark.
