Portrait of the 'Gorinchem'?

Portrait thought to be of the 'Gorinchem', built 1639, last mentioned 1667, also called 'Gorkum'. The 'Gorinchem' was probably a fireship in 1671. It was possibly a ship of the Admiralty of Amsterdam. The ship is viewed from the port quarter. The wind is on her starboard quarter, under fore course, mizzen and spritsail. The mizzen topsail is atrip and fore and main topsails are hoisted half-mast high. Striped vanes are at the mastheads. On the tafferel, on a small shield is probably the arms of Gorinchem (Gorkum). On the rail above is a full-length draped figure. Two shields are on the counter, on the port side a lion rampant and the starboard side crossed anchors. This is a very faint offset, not in reverse, from an accurate original, taken off by rubbing on the back on the stern and hull above the waterline. Another offset from a similar drawing has then been impressed upon the stern, hull and parts of the sails.
