Seascape from the 'Umberleigh'
An impressionistic seascape of an empty horizon from the 'Umberleigh'. Everett has used colour and form to show the sea and sky as contrasting elements. The sea is shades of blue, the patterning of the waves created by short hatching lines of differing shades. The sky is light lemon with cloud. Everett sailed in the steamer, 'Umberleigh', from Barry, Wales, to Vancouver, Canada, in December 1933 and returned in March 1934.
