The exiles make offerings
The three exiles, Rama, Sita and Laksmana decide to build their hut in Citrakuta. Laksmana hunts for deer and cooks it for Rama. Rama then makes the sacrificial offerings to the presiding deities, before the two brothers sit down to eat. Sita retires to the hut where she eats her meal. Image from the Ramayana, Ayodhya Kanda. This copy of the Ramayana was commissioned by Rana Jagat Singh of Mewar in Rajashan between 1649 and 1653.
