Product details The stern of an English ship
The stern of an English ship
The stern, viewed from the port quarter, of a ship having a deep tafferel on which is the early type of royal arms surmounted by a helmet with crest of crown and lion statant. Below the row of stern windows is a small compartment showing Neptune seated between two horses.
Avery raid sketch similar in style to PAF6612, but drawn with accuracy in rendering the recession of the counter and the general rake of the stern. Possibly the work of the Elder.
