Two kaags ashore on the end of a hard
Two kaags ashore on the end of a hard. Kaags were flat bottomed cargo vessels or passenger ferries of which there were many variants. Two are shown alongside one another on the end of a hard with people working on them, the tide barely reaching them. To their right is a stake marking some piles, and beyond there is a town or village. On the left there is a kaag under sail, and a ship with a flag at the main beyond.
