Product details 1939 ATCO Trainer child's car
1939 ATCO Trainer child's car
1939 ATCO Trainer child's car. The ATCO was designed to give school children training in car handling and road safety. All controls are the same as for a normal car, but there is only one forward gear and one reverse. The 98cc Villiers two-stroke petrol engine is the same one used in motor mowers, ATCO's usual product. The appearance of the trainer reflected a growing interest in road safety. Driving tests had come into force in 1935.
