Ken Wharton signing autographs. He started out driving an Austin Seven at Donington Park in the immediate prewar years. Not only did he drive in Formula One, but took part in international rallying, hillclimbing and sports car racing. His best Formula 1 season was in 1954 when he drove the Owen Organization's Maserati 250F to sixth place in the Swiss Grand Prix and also scored eighth places in the British and Spanish Grands Prix.
