Brazil vs Czechoslovakia 1970 World Cup

Fresco Olley

Brazil vs Czechoslovakia 1970 World Cup Group C. Brazil won 4-1 On the eve of Brazil's opening match in the 1970 World Cup, expectations weren't as high as one might think in retrospect. The then two-fold World Champions had left a poor impression in the 1966 tournament, defeated in the group stages by both Portugal and Hungary. 1966 still stands as Brazil's worst achievement in World Cup history. By 1970, the memories of Brazil's 1958 and 1962 victorious sides had started to fade. Garrincha, Didi, Nilton Santos, Vava, Djalma Santos all their careers were long over. But there was a sole survivor...Pele. This would be one of his greatest games ever. (Picture) Pele in Action. 3rd June 1970
