FR Simms at the wheel of a 4hp Cannstatt-Daimler, Crystal Palace, London, (c1895?). Simms acquired permission to use Daimler patents in 1893 and began to produce cars. He also founded the Automobile Club of Great Britain in December 1897, (later the Royal Automobile Club). Here Simms is surrounded by a group of men in top hats and bowlers.
