Spectators at the Kop Hill Climb, near Princes Risborough, Buckinghamshire, 1922
Spectators at the Kop Hill Climb, near Princes Risborough, Buckinghamshire, 1922. A group of people watch from a hill as the cars pass on the road below. Hill climbing events were held at this venue between 1911 and 1925, with cars and motorcycles competing. An accident in which a spectator was injured in 1925 led to the banning of all speed events on public roads. The 1922 car event was won by Count Zborowski, driving a Ballot, who completed the course in 26.8 seconds.
