Professor Sir Richard Owen, FRS, KCB, naturalist, 1873. Entitled 'Men of the Day, No 57: Old Bones', showing the naturalist and author Richard Owen, who attacked Darwin's Origin of Species. His many positions included appointment as the first Hunterian Professor of Comparative Anatomy and Physiology, the second Conservator of the Hunterian Museum and Director of the Department of Natural History at the British Museum, transferring the natural history collections to South Kensington in 1881.
