Doth Not a Meeting Like This Make Amends?, 1861. In August 1861, the Queen and Prince Albert, together with the Prince of Wales and Prince Alfred landed at Kingstown in Ireland for their third visit of the reign. This was the first since the Great Potato Famine which devastated Ireland during the years 1845 to 1850. Here, Victoria greets Hibernia in an idyllic rural setting, complete with plump, beribboned pig. From Punch, or the London Charivari, August 31, 1861.
