Renate Müller, German actress

Anonymous

Renate Müller, German actress, 1933. Müller (1906-1937), entered films in the late 1920s in Berlin and quickly became popular. A blue-eyed blonde, she was considered to be one of the great beauties of her day and along with Marlene Dietrich was seen as the embodiment of fashionable Berlin society. Her death in a fall from a hotel window in 1937 remains unexplained. Some sources believe that it was murder or suicide resulting from Müller's unwillingness to appear in Nazi propaganda films and refusal to end her relationship with her Jewish lover.
