Sir Robert Titchborne, Mayor of London c1656 (1886). Titchborne (c1610-1682) served as Lord Mayor of London in 1656. A soldier who fought on the Parliamentarian side in the Civil War, he was an extreme republican and one of the signatories of the death warrant of King Charles I. When the monarchy was restored he was sentenced to death but was imprisoned for life.
