Unknown

1896 Arnold car, (c1896?). A crowd of people surround the car. G & W Arnold were importers of Benz cars from Germany. In 1896, they commenced manufacture of a batch of 12 cars, basically of Benz type, but embodying many improvements and modifications of Arnold design. They were possibly the first British firm to embark on series production of motor vehicles. The venture was not a success. Two cars are known to survive. One of the cars took part in the famous London to Brighton Emancipation Run of 1896.
