'An Inside View of the Rotunda in Ranelagh Gardens', 1899. The Rotunda in Ranelagh Gardens, Chelsea, was erected as a public venue for indoor entertainments of various kinds in 1741 and closed in 1803. Fashionable people went there to see and be seen.
