Letter from Francis Bacon to Sir John Puckering, 28th July 1595. Letter from Francis Bacon, Lord Verulam and Viscount St.Albans to Sir John Puckering, Lord Keeper, complaining of the latter's failure to support his suit for the office of Solicitor-General. Gray's Inn. The letter is endorsed by the Lord Keeper, Mr Bacon wronging me. The post was given on 5th November to Serjeant Thomas Fleming, and Bacon did not become Solicitor-General until 1607.
