Letter from William Pitt, Earl of Chatham, (later Prime Minister), when he was Secretary of State, to the Duke of Newcastle, First Lord of the Treasury, complaining of the concealment from him of a correspondence between Major General Joseph Yorke, British envoy to the Hague, and an unknown lady at Paris concerning proposals of peace. From the first series of Facsimiles of royal, historical, literary and other autographs in the Department of Manuscripts, British Museum: Series I - V, (London, 1899).
