Marine zoological study of the common octopus (Octopus vulgaris). The cephalopod is presented as a single study, as in life. Plate 11 in the section "G.Poulpe" from the book Histoire naturelle generale et particuliere des cephalopodes acetabuliferes vivants et fossiles.., by AndrÚ ╔tienne d'Audebert de FÚrussac (1786-1836) and Alcide Charles Victor Marie Dessalines d'Orbigny (1802-1857) (Paris, 1848). Various inscriptions, including below: "Verany de Nice, delin. L de Benard Blanchard et lapid. delin. O.Vulgaria, Lam. Hors de l'eau et marchant sur la plage."
