Oval head and shoulders portrait of Campbell, shown with shoulder length natural hair and a beard, wearing a dark coat and white collar. Inscribed: "Benoist sculp. ARCHIBALD CAMPBELL Earl & Marquis of ARGYLL." Inscribed in pencil lower left "1663". Archibald Campbell was not a Fellow of the Royal Society.
