Head and shoulders near-profile portrait of Blagden, looking to the viewer's left. Inscribed: "Sr C Blagden". Inscribed in pencil lower left "1772" and verso "pp 5/-". Sir Charles Blagden was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1772. He served as Secretary to the Royal Society 1784-1797.
