Full length studio portrait of D T Ansted posed resting his left forearm on a chair and holding a top hat in his right hand. Ansted wears gloves and spectacles. Behind is a single drape or curtain. Printed below the image: "MAULL & POLYBLANK, LONDON". The reverse has various inscriptions. David Thomas Ansted was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1844.
