Head and shoulders portrait of Dr Edward Clapton, half-turned to the right as viewed. Printed below the image: "WILSON & BEADELL, 69, NEW BOND STREET, Photographers to the Queen." Information repeated verso with various pencil inscriptions. Edward Clapton was not a Fellow of the Royal Society. He worked mainly at St Thomas's Hospital in London.
