Head and shoulders portrait of a bearded Baker, oval, facing to the right as viewed. Printed below the image: "WOTHLYTYPE 213, REGENT ST. Copy-right". The reverse is variously inscribed: printed: "PATENTEES AND SOLE PROPRIETORS OF WOTHLYTYPE By Royal Letters Patent. 213, REGENT STREET. LONDON. UNITED ASSOCIATION OF PHOTOGRAPHY. LIMITED." Sir Samuel White Baker was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1869.
