A slight line-drawn sketch of a pensive-looking Henry Dale, apparently in committee. Head and shoulders, half face, looking downward through his spectacles and to the viewer's left. Sir Henry was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1914, he served as its President from 1940-1945.
