Marine biological study of the spotted scat fish, here styled Chaetodonte argo now Scatophagus argus, native to the Indo-Pacific region including the seas around New Guinea. Side view with a detail of the head of a second specimen, showing red colouration, lower right. Plate from the monograph Brief van Pieter Boddaert...Behelzende eene naauwkeurige Beschrijving der Amboinsche haagdis...van den Gevlakten klipvisch... (Amsterdam 1770). Inscribed: "II Br. G. Dadelbeek pinxit. F.de Bakker fecit." Pieter Boedaert (1730 or 1733-1795) was a Dutch physician and naturalist.
