Stand of the Wimbledon branch of the Women's Social and Political Union (WSPU)
Stand of the Wimbledon branch of the Women's Social and Political Union (WSPU), London, 1911. The stand of the Wimbledon branch of the WSPU at the Christmas Bazaar located in the Portman Rooms, 1911. Rose Lamartine Yates was the secretary of the stall which specialised in children's clothes and relied on donations. The bazaar was themed in the style of the 18th century, thus explaining the women's dress. The WSPU was the organisation at the forefront of the campaign to secure the vote for women in Britain.
