Tony Boxall

Photographer
Tony Boxall is perhaps best known for his photographs of the Gypsy and Romany community in the 1960s. Despite being initially regarded with some suspicion, he was soon allowed intimate access to photograph the families, and the subsequent photographs over the next 4 years portray a warm family life amid poverty. He was made an associate of the Royal Photographic Society in 1966, and he received the fellowship in 1969.
