From a specimen grown at Chelsea Physic Garden, probably from originals gathered by Mark Catesby. Inscribed in ink "Lychnidea Caroliniana foribus quasi umbellatim dispositis folio lucidis crassis acutus, Martyn. H.R.P.D." Not signed. Watermarked "LVG."
